Arve Henriksen is one of Norway's most distinctive trumpet players, internationally recognised for his singular sound and pioneering work across jazz, contemporary music and free improvisation. Blending trumpet, voice and subtle electronics, he has developed a deeply personal musical language shaped by decades of collaboration with artists including Jon Hassell, David Sylvian, Laurie Anderson, Bill Frisell, Ryuichi Sakamoto and numerous leading figures of the European improvisation scene. With more than 180 recordings and a career spanning nearly four decades, Henriksen remains one of the defining voices of contemporary Nordic music.
Canberk Ulaş is a Turkish duduk player, composer and improviser based in Malmö, Sweden. Rooted in the Armenian duduk tradition and shaped by contemporary improvisation, his work explores the meeting point of ancient breath, silence and electronics. In recent years he has collaborated with musicians including Arve Henriksen, Jan Bang, Bugge Wesseltoft, Eivind Aarset and Jan Bang. His acclaimed solo album Echoes of Becoming, released by Jazzland Recordings, brought together several leading voices from the Scandinavian improvisation scene and reflects his distinctive approach to expanding the expressive possibilities of the duduk.
